There are many
international models for training workers in the full range of skills
necessary to participate broadly in workplace health and safety efforts.
These models have been developed by a combination of university-based labor
education programs and community-based non-governmental organizations. Many
innovative worker training programs were developed originally with financing
from special government grant programs or employer contributions to
collectively bargained safety and health funds.
